Entrepreneurship | April 16th, 2007
I like to visit Change This to see what new business ideas and ebooks they are producing that I should read up on. Below are some recommended reading for every entrepreneur and small business owner. The thoughts of these change agents has certainly made an impact on how I have operated my own business.
The Bootstrapper’s Bible. Once again, Seth Godin makes it free and available to any startup looking to bootstrap their way to success. It’s truly one of the top manifestos to have for any startup.
The Art of The Start. Anything by Guy Kawasaki is a must read. Again, if you are a startup, this manifesto is a must read into what it takes to start a startup.
The Word on Word of Mouth. There is a huge distinction between Viral, Buzz, and Word of Mouth marketing. There is an exact science and art to WOM and I highly recommend that any small business read this primer. Anyone looking to build a solid brand should be reading this.
The Long Tail. Editor-in-Chief of Wired, CHRIS ANDERSON says that the future belongs to those that serve the millions of untapped niche markets as well as they serve the masses. Read his manifesto to find out how unlimited shelf space and personalization can revolutionize your business. The book is a best seller and has helped revolutionize how businesses should be marketing on the Internet. It will totally change the way that you think. Totally.
Guerrilla Marketing. The Guerrilla Marketing Guru, Jay Conrad Levinson, serves up 93 (yes, 93) examples of unusual, quirky, and downright effective ways you can catch people’s attention. Marketing your business or yourself doesn’t have to boring, and if you’re a guerrilla marketer, it better not be! You’re guaranteed to leave this one with some ideas of your own.
Interestingly enough, these are 5 of the top 10 most popular downloads at Changethis. Enjoy.
